Africa Golden Gloves Warriors organizes maiden promotion

Accra, Aug. 23, GNA - The Africa Golden Gloves Warriors (AGGW) will on Friday, August 27, organize its maiden promotion at the Prisons Canteen in the quest to promote and develop the sport in the country.

The event, which is being promoted by the Dade Promotion Syndicate Ghana, is also to usher the coming of the AGGW, the latest sanctioning body on the continent, primarily targeted for the development and promotion of both amateur and professional boxing.

Gideon Quartey, Chairman of Dade Promotion Syndicate Ghana told GNA Sports that his outfit will organize regular contests and championships to give the boxers the needed platform and exposure o be in line for major world titles.

He said AGGW, even though new on the boxing front will generate the needed results following huge support from its partners in the United States of America and the United Kingdom.

For the maiden promotion, Raymond Commey will battle out against David Kotey in a Featherweight contest whilst Daniel Adotey Allotey squares with Tricky Comey in the Middleweight division.

Quartey said that the Ghana Boxing Authority has commissioned the bouts with Theophilus Addo as the Matchmaker.

The professional bouts will be heralded by five amateur bouts with the boxers yet to be announced.

The organizers have also arranged a pre-event press briefing and weigh-in of the professional boxers for Thursday, August 26 at the Prisons Canteen, Accra.
