Agbeko Highly Motivated To Regain Crown

Ghana's world class boxer Joseph Agbeko says he is ready to regain his International Boxing Federation Bantam weight title from Mexican Abner Mares when they clash on Saturday December 3 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

Reports reaching yours truely state that Agbeko also known as the "Fresh King Kong" is in high hope as he believes this second duel will be a clean fight and the whole world will witness a clean fight.


According to Agbeko, he is going to become a three time world champion and add Mares's title, the World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver belt which was not at stake in the first fight.


Agbeko who felt he was robbed by referee Russell Mora in the earlier fight said he would not go for a knock out, but when the opportunity comes, he will take advantage and go for the final blow.


He noted that his opponent will come in more crafty, but he will meet diffirent and new King Kong who is hungry for a title.


For Agbeko, the fact that Ghana currently does not have a world title holder also motivates him to do his best to win for the nation and the continent of Africa.

Meanwhile, the Friends of Boxing Ghana, have called on Agbeko to go all out to win the crown for Ghana. Swiss, a boxing coach at Bukom in Accra who is a member of the FOB said Abeko has the best chane to prove that he is among the best champions in boxing currently.


He urged the King Kong to emulate Prof Azumah Nelson and go into the ring with his own referee and judge, so that he will not complain of the decision of the match officials.


Nii Saka Mankralo, the chief who was recently honoured by the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has also sent a good will message to Agbeko to concentrate fully on the bout and not hesitate to dish out the killer blow.
