All set for Manuel-Adewale bout

Accra, Aug 24, GNA - All is set for the nation to witness a heavyweight boxing bout for the first time in many years. The African Boxing Union (ABU) title fight is between Ghana's Lee Manuel Osei and Adewale Abe alias "Tiger" of Nigeria at the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex, Kaneshie on Friday, August 26.

The promoters of the fight, IFCO Boxing Promotions introduced the two boxers to the media on Wednesday at a brief ceremony in Accra. The promotions dubbed "Explosion Night" will afford the Ghanaian who has practiced his entire career in Europe to exhibit his talent before his countrymen for the first time in his career.


Manuel Osei therefore used the occasion to promise to put up his best and provide the nation with her first heavy weight title. In other fights for the night, former National and West African Super Featherweight champion, Smith Odoom will make a come back to the ring almost three years after he lost his title to Raymond Narh. Odoom will come up against young (Sensational) Abdulai Amidu, the National and West Africa Lightweight champion.


The two are to vie for the National and West Africa Super Featherweight title.

Also appearing on the night is Braimah Kamoko, known as "Bukom Banku", ABU Light heavyweight champion who will be sorting things out with Sugar Ray Akwei, (White Pepper) former National and West African Light Heavyweight champion in a ten round contest. Kpapko Allotey (Bukom Flash) will come up against Kwame Archer (Man to Man) in a Lightweight contest whilst Lartei Lartey (Bukom Jah) battles it out against Isaac Quartey (Chorkor Dynamite) in another ten round Super Lightweight contest.


Ayitey (Dada) Powers National Champion would slug it out with Flash Ibole Issaka, the former national champion in a ten round middleweight contest while Larteikwei Hammond, (Shocker) the national Champion engage Fire Anthony (Fit) in an eight round welterweight contest.
