Anasco Limited donates weighing equipment to GBA

Accra, July 10, GNA - An Accra-based company, Anasco Scales and Engineering Digicom Limited has presented weighing equipment valued at 5000 Ghana Cedis (50 million cedis) to the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) towards the sport's development by the company. The equipment includes three ultra-modern weight cum height scales and 15 bathroom scales.

Christopher Dzilah, Marketing Manager of Anasco Limited said the donation was their contribution in response to the GBA's appeal to lure the private sector to support the noble art of self defence in the country.

He said he was hopeful the equipment would help raise the standard of boxing in the country and pledged more future support aimed at placing the pugilistic sport on a high pedestal.

Moses Foh-Amoaning, Chairman of GBA was grateful to the company for the gesture, promising that the equipment would be put to good use. He said the equipment will be distributed to boxing gyms across the country and called on other corporate bodies to emulate such a gesture. In a related development, Mr Cecil Ebow Gabrah, Executive Director of TopTech Drive Consult also presented a cheque of 500 Ghana Cedis (five million cedis) to the GBA as his widow's mite towards the support of boxing.

He said that he was touched by the plight of some boxers and cited inadequate motivation as a major factor affecting the growth of the sport.

Mr Gabrah assured the GBA of his company's support in organizing seminars and training programmes to keep boxers and trainers updated with the modern trends of the sport.
