Emmanuel 'Game Boy' Tagoe is back in the world ratings, the boxer managed by Ghana football captain, Asamoah Gyan rising to a Top 10 place in the latest WBA ratings.

Tagoe had previously occupied the no.7 position in the same WBA Lightweight world ratings but fell completely out of the rankings entirely following a year and half of inactivity.

But following two impressive displays, first stopping Tanzanian, Sadiki Momba in Accra on December 26 last year before the comprehensive conquest of Reyes on April 24, the Ghanaian showman has risen back into the ratings and enters at a huge 9th place in the WBA Lightweight division.

Tagoe's rating could be the perfect tonic to set up a mega fight against either of other highly rated Ghanaian Lightweights, Richard Commey (IBF no.7) or Rafael Mensah who is rated no.6 by the WBA and in fact, came into the ring to demand a fight against Tagoe when Gyan's boxer defeated Reyes at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Tagoe's camp have already served notice of their willingness to face off against the highly rated Commey who is in the United States at the moment preparing for his debut in the States on Friday, Commey's camp however dismissed Tagoe's challenge back then citing his absence in the ratings.

It remains to be seen if such mega bout on the local scene could be organised but for Gyan and his BabyJet Promotions team, the quest to land their boxer a world title shot within a year is well within sight now that Tagoe's number 9 rating puts him in position to fight any of the 8 boxers rated above him anyday.

"We're now trying to push him to the next level. From here, we're fighting the interim champion so that's what we are looking at right now so we have to go home and sit down with my team and then we take it from right there," Tagoe's boss, Asamoah Gyan told Allsports.com.gh exclusively after the victory over Reyes back on April 24.
