Ricky Hatton is set to make the 11th defence of his WBU world light welterweight title against Ghana's Ben Tackie at the Manchester Evening News Arena on Saturday, December 13.
It should prove to be a tough test for 24-year-old Hatton against a genuine world top-10 fighter.
Tackie, winner of 24 of his 28 fights, has extended Kostya Tszyu - holder of the WBC, IBF and WBA titles - and his next challenger, Sharmba Mitchell, the full 12 rounds before going down on points.
The Manchester bill will also feature Belfast's former British welterweight champion Neil Sinclair meeting Birmingham fighter Jimmy Vincent for the vacant WBU welterweight title.
