Accra, July 18, GNA - Will Power Homowo Boxing Promotions, will hit the boxing circles with a boxing promotion fixed for August 12, at Mantse Agbona Park, James Town, Accra.
The championship forms part of activities marking the annual Homowo Festival to be lined up by the Boxing syndicate.
The syndicate has therefore put up seven exciting bouts to whip up the interest of the people as they celebrate the festival. Among the boxers lined up on the bill are Thomas Okaita Aryetey clashing against Odalai Lamptey as they vie for the National Super Featherweight title with Joseph Laryea taking on Kuma Doe in the National and West Africa Boxing Union (WABU) championship both in 12 rounds.
Also on the bill are Malik Jabir and Emmanuel Tagoe vying for the National Featherweight championship also in 12 rounds, whilst Samuel Amoaku takes on Daniel Tindana in an eight round Lightweight contest. Albert Mensah will battle Kwame Achar in another eight round Lightweight contest with Joshua Okine sorting things out with Paul Achab in a Super Welterweight 10 rounder with Herbert Quartey battling Kwaja Dodoo in an eight round Super Batam-weight contest.
Napoleon Tagoe, the brain behind the promotion told the GNA Sports that the event will also provide a platform for a united Ga State. He said all stakeholders including some prominent citizens such as Sheikh Ibrahim Cudjoe Quaye, Greater Accra Regional Minister, Stanley Adjiri Blankson, Chief Executive Officer of Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) and Charles James Aryeh, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Sports Council will grace the occasion.
Tagoe who was supported by Solomon Otoo Lartey and Peter Ako Peterson called on the corporate bodies to come to their aid to make the event a memorable one whilst urging the sporting public to lend their support.
