Bukom Banku arrested for alleged assault

Cruiserweight champion Braimah Kamoko popularly known as Bukom Banku has been arrested and detained by the Accra Central Police for assault.

The 38-year-old boxer is reported to have assaulted four ladies after a confrontation.

The Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command, ASP Afia Tengey, who confirmed the arrest to Graphic Online said Bukom Banku has been detained pending further investigations.

One of the victims Charlotte Dodoo narrated that Bukom Banku on Wednesday March 9, assaulted her and her sisters without provocation.

She said Banku slapped two of her cousins and pushed the other to the ground and in her attempt to intervene, the boxer knocked her on the chin.

According to her, initial attempts to have Banku arrested failed as the James Town Police Station refused to arrest the boxer compelling them to report the case at the Accra Central Police.
