Enigmatic boxer Braimah Kamoko faces Uruguay’s Jorge Oliveira for the interim WBO Africa Light-heavyweight championship over 12 rounds in the topliner of the GoldenMike Boxing Promotions organized event come this Saturday January 29. According to GoldenMike supremo Mike Tetteh, victory in for either fighter pushes them up for rating within the top ranks of not just the WBO but other boxing governing bodies like the WBC, IBF, WBA among others.

In the main event of the championship dubbed ‘Night of no return’ billed for the Accra International Conference Centre, the unbeaten Bukom Banku, 20-0, 15 KOs, has sworn to not only beat and punish Oliveira (22-2, 11 KOs) to win the WBO Africa crown, but also avenge the nation’s bizarre loss to Uruguay in last year’s football World Cup.

Also featuring on the bill will be Joshua Okine AKA Bukom Tsatsu, 21-4-1, 13 KOs, who also fights for the interim WBO Africa Welterweight eliminator over 10 rounds against Francisco Reges of Brazil (16-4-1, 10 KOs).

Sam Amoako popularly called Bruno, 22-4, 11 KOs, takes on Namibian Martin Haikali (6-4, 2KOs) in a 12 rounder for the WBO Africa Lightweight championship. Other match-ups have Ishmael Aryeetey (Black Eagle) against Daniel Tetteh for the national featherweight title over 12 rounds, Michael Gbenga AKA The Amazing versus good old Ayitey Powers in a national super bantamweight contest with Herbert Quartey and Alfred Tetteh alias Stinging Bee also facing off for the national super bantamweight title.

The organizers have appealed to boxing fans and the general public to patronize what promises to be an exciting and competitive night of fight extravaganza at the plush Accra International Conference Centre. Rates for the ‘Night of no return’ have it at GH?20 for Ringside and GH?10 for Popular Stand.

“Saturday’s a big fight so we invite all to come to the Conference Centre to offer their support and make it a success. We have big plans to stage either WBO or IBF world title fight to the country in the bid to project our boxers and the nation.

“We have produced boxers into the international boxing hall of fame so we are a big boxing country and our resolution must be it is either the best or with the best,” Mr. Tetteh, CEO of GoldenMike Boxing Promotions stated to SportsInGhana.com ahead of weigh-in on Friday at the Media Centre of the Accra Sports Stadium.
