The Communications Director of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), Mohammed Amin Lamptey has blamed some Ghanaian boxers for the problems the sport finds itself in, despite the fame and glory it brought the nation in the past.

In an interview with Chronicle Sports, Amin Lamptey minced no words by saying that until boxers start to embark on attitudinal change by getting professional in their relationship with boxing promotion outfits, it would be very difficult for the sport to make any progress.

Amin Lamptey's comments come in the wake of the recent unprofessional manner in which World Professional Boxing Federation (WPBF) Light Heavy Weight Champion, Braimah Kamoko (Bukom Banku) sidestepped Golden Concepts International Promotions and Management Syndicate, and presented the title he won on January 29, 2011, at the expense of Uruguayan opponent, Jorge Rodriguez, to the Vice President, John Dramani Mahama.

During the presentation of the title to the Vice President, sources close to the GBA said Banku was given a cash prize, which he shared with those who accompanied him to put up the unprofessional act.

But days after Bukom Banku's unprofessional conduct, it came to light that he presented the wrong title to the unsuspecting Vice President of the Republic of Ghana.

Apparently, the title he won at the expense of Rodriguez was not available for presentation on the night he defeated the Uruguayan.

The GBA is not the least amused at Bukom Banku's conduct, and would soon be hauling him before its arbitration committee to answer charges of impropriety.

According to the Communications Director of the GBA, a number of Ghanaian boxers have exhibited such levels of unprofessionalism, which has culminated in their careers taking a nosedive.

He disclosed that the title which was unavailable for presentation to the boxer would soon be presented to him, noting that the one he presented to the Vice President was his African Light Heavy Weight title, noting that Braimah Kamoko has brought shame to Ghana boxing.
