World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa featherweight champion, Isaac Dogboe, has paid a courtesy call on the Greater Accra Regional Police Commander, ACP Timothy Yooba Bonga as part of the boxer’s familiarisation tour ahead of his upcoming bout.

Dogboe would mount the second defense of his title against Ugandan boxer, Edward Kakembo on June 18 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The visit was also aimed at soliciting the support of the police service for the bout as well as show appreciation to the service for their role in previous bouts.

According to the boxer, the police have been tremendous in maintaining law and order during his bouts and must be highly commended.

He officially invited the police for the bout and assured that he would do his best to put boxing back to its glory days.

He added that it would be a very entertaining and competitive fight for all and urged all boxing lovers to troop the venue to witness the big show.

On his part, ACP Yooba said the police is pleased to receive the promising star and pledged to provide him with the necessary support to win the bout.

“It is unusual for sportsmen to engage the police in such interactions. The Dogboe camp must be commended for the initiative and appreciating the role of the police,” he stated.

“We will be there in our numbers and also pray that Dogbe wins the fight for Ghana as he is one of the great potentials in the country currently,” he stressed.

The two unbeaten boxers would go at each other on the bill dubbed “Battle of the Rising Stars” under the auspices of Aborigines Beach Resorts Promotions.
