Duke Micah bout cancelled

Duke Micah’s bout this evening, March 26, has been cancelled. Micah, the Ghanaian bantamweight prospect, was scheduled to face Georgia’s Giorgi Gachechiladze at the Rivermead Leisure Center in West Berkshire, United Kingdom, but Gachechiladze failed his mandatory medical testing, prompting organizers to cancel the event.

“This is very worrisome because [Micah] has prepared himself for this card and now has to wait for another opportunity,” said Micah trainer Carl Lokko. “Now we have no option. We have to accept it and move on.

“We will return to the gym. Training continues and we are not going to relax because boxing is a sport where you can’t just sit down,” Lokko added.

This is the second time Micah’s scheduled bout in the U.K. has been called off.
