World Boxing Organization (WBO) African bantamweight champion Duke Micah (14-0, 14 KO’s) is scheduled to fight on Saturday, 19 March at the York Hall in the United Kingdom against Georgia’s against Mikheil Soloninkini (6-17-1, 2 KO’s).
The 24 year old who turned professional in 2012 last fought in December, stopping compatriot Ekow Wilson in the eighth round to claim the WBO African bantamweight title. The former Olympian has performed beyond expectations and will be looking forward have a shot at a world tittle very soon.
Trainer Carl Lokko said: “Duke is one of the potentials in his weight category and we are preparing him for a crack at the world title. “He will use Saturday’s fight as part of his preparation, we want him to get used to the system in the UK”.
Lokko also added that Ghanaians should be rest assured that with Micah’s quality he will definitely win this upcoming fight.
“His opponent Soloninkini shouldn’t pose a threat to him at all having lost four of his last six bouts and losing 17 in all,” he stressed.
