Fifteen bouts at fourth night of Greater Accra Amateur League

Accra, April 10, GNA - The third Greater Accra Amateur Boxing Association League enters its fourth day at the Prisons Canteen, Cantonment on Friday, April 11, with 15 interesting bouts. Gideon Quartey, Chairman of the GAABA who announced the bouts in Accra said all the 15 fights have the potential of providing excitement galore and asked boxing fans to throng the venue to enjoy an evening of superlative pugilistic action. He said with many foreign engagements lined up for the Regional Team including a reciprocal visit to Haringey Police and Community Boxing Club in England, most of the gyms are determined to get their boxers into the team and have subsequently intensified their training.

In the opener for the night, Faisal Abubakar of Bronx Boxing Club will sort it out with Sulemana Tetteh of Wisdom Club in the flyweight class, while Felix Okai of Will Power Gym fights James Kotey of Wisdom Club and Jackson Nortey of Bronx Gym challenges Raphael Abrompah of Wisdom in two classic bantamweight fights. In three featherweight bouts lined up for the night, it will be Ofoli Tetteh of Fit Square Gym versus Ekow Wilson of Black Panthers Gym; Frank Bebu of Fit Square versus Abraham O. Bonsu and Confidence Hamenu of Jah Bless versus Bright Ayala of Wisdom. Lightweight Azumah Alari of Ultimate Gym fights Edmund Annor of CAN and Eric Addo of Will Power challenges Emanuel Abu of Believers Club also in the lightweight division.

In the light welterweight class, Francis Quarshie of Star High will slug it out with Kofi Quaye Wilson of Black Pabthers while Amos Denji of Wisdom trades punches with Zakariah Abassof Fit Square. There will be three welterweight fights. Samuel Lartey of Will Power will challenge Joseph Narh of Sparta Club; Emmanuel Quarshie of A/G will fight Atua Akrugu of Star High while Thomas Azurie of Billy Kotey Club sorts it out with Moses Lartey of Will Power. Elvis Cornelius of Black Panthers fights Paul King of A/G and Theophilus O. Dodoo of Bukom Gym tangos Emanuel Agire both in the middleweight category.
