* to agree IBF Intercontinental title fight *

It is official. Sportsinghana.com can exclusively reveal that IBF International Welterweight champion, Frederick Lawson has up to Monday October 14 to reply to the International Boxing Federation/United States Boxing Association if he is up for the challenge of incumbent champion, Kevin Bizier who is due for a mandatory defence.

A letter dated October 10, 2013 signed by Lindsey E. Tucker Jr, IBF/USBA Championship Chairman addressed to Alhaji Enusah Sally, Manager of the Ghanaian boxer exclusively sighted by Sportsinghana.com notified Lawson’s camp to give in their word on the purported fight.

“Kevin Bizier is the I/C Welterweight Champion. His mandatory defense is due. The leading available contender is #2, Fredrick Lawson. The IBF wants to get this mandatory defense started as soon as possible,” the letter stated.

It continued: “Let me know, *in writing*, by Monday, October 14, 2013, if Lawson is available to fight Bizier. If we don’t hear from you *in writing*by close of business on October 14, 2013, we will assume that Lawson is not interested in participating in this I/C Title fight. We will then move down the list to the next available contender.”

Meanwhile, our sources couldn’t confirm if Lawson who recently travelled to the Philippines to work as sparring partner for Manny Pacquiao, is even in touch with his manager whose approval he apparently did not get before undertaking the journey to the Asian country.
