Liberian born Freddy Kiwitt alias ‘Pretty Boy’ took Ghana’s veteran but experienced boxer Frank Dodzi to size when he KOed him over the weekend at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra- Ghana.
BoxingGhana had a chat with the Germany based boxer after his victory.
Congrats Freddy
ANS: Thank you very much.
QUE: Were you in a hunt for knockout victory?
ANS: I was expecting victory, I did not know how it was going to end but I knew I was going to win.
QUE: You fought against an experienced boxer in Dodzi, was he a worthy opposition for you tonight?
ANS: I mean, He (Dodzi) is more experienced than me…..I think he has almost knockdown, everybody he has faced, he recently fought for the WBO African title so I couldn’t take him lightly….and also I stepped up in weight to fight him.
QUE: How would you rate him….if you are to compare and contrast with your previous opposition?
ANS: I rate everybody the same, everybody who has two arms and legs…everybody is dangerous until you get them out there. You know this is boxing, sometimes you get them out early, sometimes you go on points, sometimes you can’t knock everybody out, so I am happy I managed to do it.
QUE: What is next for Freddy Kiwitt?
ANS: Am hoping I can return back to Ghana and fight again in the future.
QUE: What is your ambition in terms of titles in the next year?
ANS: I like to fight in the next year for the African title. Obviously, I like the world title but I want to take it a step so I like to take the African title, maybe defend it a few times then the world title.
QUE: How crucial was your new management for this victory?
ANS: I had a bad history so am happy to come off my old contract, now I am with a good team, so for me, this is a new beginning. I am happy to fight in Ghana and Africa. You know I am a Liberian, my dream was to fight in Africa.
Congratulations again Freddy and Thank you.
ANS: Thank you very much.
