Accra, Sept. 22, GNA 96 The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has changed the venue of its press conference scheduled for Monday, Sept. 25, from the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports to the premises of Metro TV at Labone.

This is to afford the television station the opportunity to transmit the programme live as the conference is meant to announce the commencement of the 2006 Mortein Boxing League.

The conference is scheduled to start at 10: 00 a.m. A release from the GBA has therefore requested all media houses to send their representatives to cover the event.

In a related development, the GBA, as part of its corporate strategic plan to develop the sport, will organise a one-day intensive boxing seminar for media personnel.

The seminar is fixed for Tuesday, September 26, at the International Press Centre at 9:30 am.

Media personnel will be taken through the rules and regulations governing the sport by experienced and qualified resource persons. Mr Justus Agbeko, General Secretary of the GBA in a statement said, the seminar, which is in collaboration with Far East Mercantile, sponsors of Mortein Professional League seeks to raise the level of technical knowledge of media personnel to ensure accurate reportage of boxing events as well as to shape the media landscape for the sport. The statement therefore called on all media houses to send their representative to attend the seminar. 22 Sept. 06
