The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has began investigations into the circumstances leading to the defeat of Ghana’s Frank Dodze in his recent World Boxing Council (WBC) Youth Welterweight Championship to Algerian Nasreddine Dahou at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Dahou claimed the WBC Youth Welterweight championship with third round stoppage of Dodze.
Peter Zwenes, President of the GBA says his outfit shares the outrage of the boxing fans who witnessed the fight which saw the corner men of Dodze throw in the towel after the Ghanaian had knocked out the Algerian.
He said the GBA deems the action of the corner men of the Ghanaian as deliberate and calculated to give the North African an unfair advantage.
Zwenes said persons found culpable after the investigations will be appropriately sanctioned.
The GBA has meanwhile suspended the licenses of Robert Okine, the corner man of Dodze and Solomon Otoo, the Promoter/Matchmaker of the fight indefinitely.
