George Ashie's world title ambitions is set to face a stern test in Europe on November 11 against Tunisian born Belgian based, Hedi Slimani.
Ashie, a former Commonwealth and African Boxing Union Lightweight champion hopes to annex the WBC Francophone Lightweight belt which 28 year old Slimani first annexed via a round 12 TKO victory over Frenchman, Samir Kasmi back in April this year.
Ashie, nicknamed Red Tiger currently holds the Interim WBO Africa Lightweight title he defeated Tanzanian' Allan Kamote to win in December last year.
Barely a month later, the boxer's quest to realise the childhood dream of becoming a world champion received a huge boost following the signing of a 3-year management deal in Accra with Reinsport Management headed by Abraham Rendorf AKA Teddy Moore.
Now he gets the opportunity to fight for the first time under the stewardship of his new managers since inking the deal subject to renewal for a further two 2 years based on the boxer's performance.
"I want to promise all Ghanaians that I will bring the world title to make everybody proud so they should just keep on praying for me," Ashie said back then.
Now Ashie (25-4-1, 18 KOs) begins the first step on the long journey to realising the huge ambition against the 28 year old Slimani (21-2, 11 KOs) on the night of Wednesday November 11, 2015 at the Sporthall, Lichtervelde, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
