Dear Sir,
We are writing this protest to express our displeasure of open bias exhibited by referee Russell Mora in the International Boxing Federation bantamweight championship between Joseph Agbeko of Ghana and Abner Mares of Mexico which took place in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas on the night of 13 August, 2011.
Our concern is the behavior the IBF referee Russell Mora, whose failure to deduct a point from the winner despite at least five warnings for low blows and several other low blows left many in disbelief.
We truly think the performance of the referee has robbed all of us of a great fight so in the interest of justice, fair play and equity we are demanding immediate rematch as early as possible.
It is our firm conviction that IBF as a sanction body upholds the principle of fairness, justice and fair play at all times and will not hesitate to order for rematch in light of the compelling evidence before it. We are of the opinion that IBF as a global sanction body is above any form of discrimination and will not be a party to deviant and racial attributes.
It is a travesty of justice that the verdicts of the judges will be allowed to stand taking into consideration what actually transpired in the ring. We hereby called on the IBF to declare the decision of the referee as illegal taking into consideration the unified rules and regulations of boxing. We urge you to immediate call for rematch without further delay.
I respectfully await your prompt response, Yours in boxing,
Signed
Samir Captan (GBA, President)
