The big fight between Ayitey Powers and Bukom Banku at the Accra Sports Stadium on May 15, 2014 has really marketed Ghana Boxing and vreports reaching yours truly is that more promoters has expressed interest to manage and promote Ghanaian boxers.
According to Don Richard Attoh-Okine who donated boxing equipment to the Ghana Boxing Authoruty (GBA) before the fight, he has contacted his partners in the United States of America (USA) to support local boxers and turn them into international champions.
He said the performance put up by the boxers in the main bout and the supporting bout, especially Maxwell Amponsah who won the National Light heavyweight title and Manyo Plange has proved that there are talents to be groom.
He expressed that the spactators also showed much maturity and he was convinced that boxing can be promoted big time in Ghana.
Richard Attoh-Okine who has lived in the USA most of his life and returned home to contribute to the development of the nation indicated that his passion is sports and the sports that he loves most is boxing, so he will do his best to contribute to the promotion and development of the sport.
He praised the administration of Peter Zwennes for scaling all the obtacles that lead to the Jugdement Night Fight and congratulated the fans who complied with the directives of the traditional leaders and ensured that there was a good fight and no trouble was made before and after the fight.
He also commended the security personnel who worked on that night as well as the entertainer Sala, who thrilled the spectators with her dancers.
