Ghana boxing to hit the world - 'Okunka' Lawson

Ghana's Chicago based international boxer, Fredrick 'Okunka' Lawson, is heavily obsessed Ghana's efforts of hitting the world with it's boxing..

Fredrick in his professional career as a boxer made his debut fight on the 30th of April, 2011 against his Ghanaian compatriot Gideon Agbosu where he won convincingly in the first (1st) round via technical knock-out (TKO), and had continued to box 27 times, winning 26, losing only one(1) fight to Canadian Kevin Bizier through a round 10 knock-out (KO) in their 12 round contest bout.

He currently holds the IBF Continental Africa Welterweight Title,IBF International Welterweight Title and the WBC International Silver Welterweight Title by defeating Jamaica's Sakima Mullings.

"Ghana boxing this year will hit the world. We always says we are hitting the world but I think this is the time. The time is right here and now."

"Everyone is now seeing and smelling the aroma higher above the skies with what Isaac Dogboe, Emmanuel Tagoe, Duke Micah and the likes are exhibiting," Lawson said in an interview.

On his career with retrospect to the year under review he said, "2017 was a good and huge record year to me as a boxer, because you can't just enter into the ring to come out victorious. That four(4) corners ring there ain't easy at all. There are more things in there which can't be discussed."

"As a boxer, should you ask me the moment I sets off the ring how the feelings is like. I'll only tell you yeah I won and I'm happy for that. I can't tell what necessarily is actually in there"

"I'm not talking of any spiritual something, but naturally it has everything to do with the boxer's body,spirit and mentality. So is up to you the boxer to psyche yourself up and make sure you're going out for the night and a win," Lawson noted.

He added "amazingly the opponent equally psyches and prepares toughly like you, so who thinks faster than the other carriers the night."

In conclusion on what both the nation and his fans should watch out from him chided "Okunka Lawson for now is back and back for good as l recovered from my injury. l'm heading for my WBC international world challenge to be held in the states in March as l prepare tirelessly at the end of the month here in Ghana to return to the states.

"By February the entire nation will possibly hear something good from me and my team," Okunka concluded.
