Ghana’s WBO featherweight Champion Isaac Dogboe defeated John Neil Tabanao from the Philippines to win the WBC Youth World title at the Police Officer’s Social &Fitness Center on Friday night.
Dogboe won the bout on unanimous decision after all three judges scored in favor of the 21-year-old in a keenly contested fight.
The Ghanaian despite having a stiff contest from his opponent stood to his grounds to be emerge Champion of the night.
The young boxer prior to the fight held a rich stats with (14-0, 9 KO’s) as against Tabanao’s (14-0, 9 KO’s).
The highly-rated Ghanaian boxer after the fight expressed his delight.
“I am excited, I thank everyone for the support. I am proud of myself, I said it before and I have been able to do it,” he said.
The fine boxer before his bout with Tabanao had defeated Uganda’s Edward Kakembo in June this year.
