Ghana’s first female boxer, Yarkor Chavez says she will say goodbye to the pugilist discipline next year.
According to Yarkor, the frustrations and difficulties bedeviling her career in Ghana are so serious that she would like to end her career after 25-years of practice.
Among the problems Chavez complained about is lack of support from the Ministry of Sports for female boxers, who are most of the time left to fend for themselves in virtually every aspect of the sport.
But before she retires next year, she believes she will rule the World one day.
“I will quit boxing next year, but I have started training some young female boxers despite not making some financial gains in the discipline and one day I will become a World Champion", she told Francis Abban on the Morning Starr Tuesday.
Currently, she goes around her vicinity as a stylist and a body groomer to earn a living after her training schedule.
