International Boxing Organisation (IBO) Lightweight champion, Emmanuel “Game Boy” Tagoe, has said he is the current king of boxing in Ghana, because he is the only boxer with a world title.

“Apart from being the only world title holder in Ghana, I am also the only Ghanaian boxing champion with 11 title belts,” he stated.

Tagoe, who is managed and promoted by Baby Jet Boxing Promotions, said he is the only boxer who predicts the outcome of his bouts and knows exactly, which round to stop his opponent.

According to Tagoe, he is also the best performer of the art, if boxing is a noble art of self defence adding that, boxing is not for strong people, but smart people, that is why Pernel Whitaker defeated Azumah Nelson.

“I have the skills, stamina and natural talent, so I did not go through the amateur ranks. I just jumped into the game because I wanted to box,” he said.

Tagoe added that, he has always fought the toughest opponents among Ghanaian boxers, but he makes them look ordinary, so people think his opponents are not strong.

“I am promising Ghanaians another great boxing night on January 27. I want people who love real boxing to come and watch another display. I will give them their money’s worth - quality boxing,” he stated.

Tickets for the bout between Tagoe and Argentina’s David Fernando Saucedo have started selling at 300ghc for VIP ringside, 200ghc for ringside and 20ghc for the popular stand.

Tagoe (27-1, 13 KOs) would step into the ring for the first time in over a year, after injuries and other technical issues ensured he has not fought since winning the title with a unanimous points decision over South African Mzonke Fana in December 2016.
