Defeated Ghanaian WBO Middleweight boxer Obadai Sai believes he was offered a raw deal by the referee in his WBO Middleweight World Title Eliminator fight against Namibian boxer Walter Kautondokwa.
The Namibian boxer knocked out Obadai Sai popularly known as “Miracle” in the 5th round to defend his WBO Africa Middleweight belt on Friday night.
The referee stopped the fight after a heavy blow by Walter Kautondokwa in the 5th round which landed Obodai on the floor.
However in an interview with www.ghanaweb.com, Obodai expressed his disappointment in the referee. He accused the referee of prematurely calling off the game when he (Obodai) was clearly fit to continue the fight.
“I trained very well for this fight and was really prepared for the bout. The guy punched me and I went down. The referee did not count or ask me any question he just signaled for the closure of the game. I’m really disappointed in the referee, Obodai lamented.
Kautondokwa was declared the winner by technical knockout in round 5 and by virtue of this victory has defended his WBO Africa middleweight belt.
He has also added the IBF Africa middleweight title to his collections making an impressive record of 15 undefeated fights with 14 being knockouts.
