Ike Quartey former, World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight champion and a management member of Jumus Boxing Promotion has said he has no intention to manage Raymond Narh, National Super featherweight champion as being peddled in boxing circles.

Quartey told the GNA Sports he was only interested in organising promotional events for the boxer who, he thinks, is potential world title-holder explaining that he is only helping in the development boxing in the country and not to snatch any boxer from his manager.

He said there is nothing on paper to prove that he is managing Narh since he has not signed any managerial contract with the boxer.

According to the former world Champion, he has made fruitless efforts to hold talks with Narhs' former manger, Al Hamilton, to explain his stands to him adding that since that meeting has failed, he (Quartey) has no option than to go on with the promotional events of the boxer.

Narh was recently entangled in managerial problem with his British manager Al Hamilton and decided to quit his camp citing cheating and lack of respect among others as his reasons for moving out of the camp of the British manager.

Mr. Hamilton did not take kindly with the quit and so managed to stop a title fight between Narh and Malik Jabir earlier in the year and further threatened to place legal injunction on an impending fight between Narh and Kaiser Mabuzo of South Africa at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, June 13.

On the legal threat by Mr. Hamilton, Quartey, said the Ghana Boxing Association (GBA) has sanctioned the fight and no one can prevent them from going on with the bout as scheduled on Friday.

He indicated his readiness to face the legal implications as being threatened by Narhs' former manger.

Quartey said, he has more promotional fights in place for Narh to make him ripe for a world title shots adding that another fight would be arranged for the boxer in September as part of the plans.

He urged all boxing fans to come to the stadium to cheer the Ghanaian boxers on bill to victory.
