Accra, Feb. 8, GNA - A new dawn arrived in the dwindling career of Peter Macintosh, national and West African super lightweight boxing champion on Wednesday when he sealed a managerial deal with Mr Aswad Nkrabea, a Jamaican investor based in Ghana.

Speaking to the GNA Sports on the pact, Mr Nkrabea said he wanted to avail his resources to Macintosh to ensure that he was well taken care of and to strengthen him mentally, spiritually and physically to redefine his career.

He said his primary objective after the initial conditioning would be to push him to hunt for bigger belts including world titles in his division.

Mr Nkrabea who claimed to be a member of the Rastafarian Unity Home and Abroad (RUHA) said, "we are here to assist our brothers in whatever endeavours they are involved in and it is our responsibility to guarantee the social welfare of the Rastafarian Community." Reacting to the deal, Macintosh said he would reciprocate the efforts of his new manager by going to any lengths to win victories in the ring.

He said Mr Nkrabea had filled the managerial vacuum that had thwarted his desire to become a world champion in the past. "I will explode in response to the opportunities that my association with Aswad have brought into my career and Jah willing, I shall emulate Azumah Nelson and Ike Quartey by winning a world title."

He said he had started training secretly at a gym owned by Mr Boniface Kwabena Amandi, Managing Director of Ghana Metal Fabrication and Construction Limited and warned boxers in the super lightweight division to either keep off or be maimed if they dared him for a fight.
