President of the Kenya Boxing Federation John Kameto has slammed Joseph ‘King Kong’ Agbeko and his camp for arranging a fight without their federations knowledge, resulting in the cancellation of his fight against Kenyan pugilist Nick Otieno.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on Happy FM, Mr. Kameto revealed that the Agbeko camp acted unprofessionally by not going through the proper processes to get the fight on.
“I’m the president of the Kenya Boxing Federation I was in Congo with all the coaches. You never involved them and the championship between countries so everything has to go through the right process. This is an unprofessional act from the camp of Joseph Agbeko.
“Ghana Boxing Association must write to Kenya Boxing Federation for approval. they cannot go the boxer to arrange a fight without our concern and they should read the constitution that governs African boxing. So I am telling u we don’t know anything about that bout. The boxer himself must make travel arrangements by acquiring a visa and a plane ticket and none of such arrangements were made. That is absolutely scandalous and how can you sanction a fight without telling the opponent? How is he going to get a visa and I think those promoters lied to Ghanaians because I should have known by now and as I’m speaking to you, I’m with Nick Otieno’s coach who works with the Kenyan defense force and none of us is aware so it’s absolutely a lie” Mr. Kameto told Happy FM.
