Ghana’s Joseph Kwadjo (23-10, 18 KO’s) turned in one of the finest performances of his career, stopping Fiji’s Opeti Tagi (17-13, 9 KO’s) in the third round at Subrail Park in Fiji.

Kwadjo was the busier fighter throughout, punishing his opponents with a series of hooks that felled Tagi twice in the first.

Tagi bounced back with a strong second but southpaw Kwadjo refused to back down, standing toe to toe with the Fijan. It looked as if the fighters were settling into a long bout but Kwadjo had other plans. The Ghanaian unleashed a powerful left hook in the third that hurt Tagi. Kwadjo followed up with an assault to the head and body, forcing the ref to step in at 2:12.

Kwadjo, spoke to Bukomboxingnews.com after the win.

“I want to dedicate this win to my fans who turned up to support me,” he said. “Fighting a boxer in his own country is not an easy thing and for me to get a knock out shows the kind of work I put in before the fight. This win will also serve as a Christmas gift to all my fans across the world.”
