Kpakpo Allotey fights Ben Ankrah for ABU title

Accra, Nov 14, GNA - Ghana's Kpakpo Allotey and Ben "Congo Soldier" Amkrah will fight each other on FridayDecember 2 at the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex for the vacant African Boxing Union (ABU) lightweight title.

The fight was announced at a press conference in Accra on Monday by the management of Obric Sala Boxing Promotions Syndicate, promoters of the fight.

It will be the main card of an eight bout packagedubbed "the Eruption Night" to commemorate the Farmers Day, which falls on that day and is a Statutory public holiday for Ghanaians.

The fight would also be a rematch for the two boxers whose previous fight ended in a controversial split 2-1 decision for Ben Ankrah. Other fights announced by the Nii Lantey Vanderpuije, Public Relations Manager of the Promotions Syndicate include a mandatory and final eliminator for the Commonwealth welterweight title between former champion Joshua Okine and Kola Abiola of Nigeria.

Brimah Kamako will also engage a Nigerian Benedict Ikemefuna in a light heavyweight contest over 10 rounds while Lartei lartey slugs it out with Stephen Doglo, who prefers to be called "Roberto Duran" in a super lightweight contest over 10 rounds.

Malik Jabir will meet Sunday Akaja of Nigeria in a super featherweight duel over eight rounds, while George Ashie tackles Thomas Okaija Aryeetey in a national super featherweight eliminator and Joseph Kwadwo engages Joseph lamptey in an eight round super welterweight fight.
