Malik, Kpakpo fight tonight

In what could best be described as a holiday bash, Hush Hush Promotions and Management Syndicate is offering boxing fans in Accra a fine opportunity to see some great fights tonight to mark the 46th independence day anniversary of Ghana.

Featuring mouth-watering title fights, the programme is designed to provide fans their hearts desire.

Topping the bill is the grudge battle between national and West Africa bantamweight champion, Malik Jabir, and Nigeria?s Sunday Okolie.

Both boxers remain in respectable standing on the ABU ratings and, therefore, would be keen on maintaining their pedigree after tonight?s event.

The Ghanaian was only prevented from raising his image or rather allowed to maintain it when a cracker with national super featherweight champion, Raymond Narh, failed to materialise.

Against the Nigerian, Malik will strive to prove his worth to earn him a place among the greats of boxing in the country. And when he succeeds, his name will be carved in gold letters.

Ghana?s Kpakpo ?the exciting? Allotey also challenges compatriot Ben Ankrah for the vacant national lightweight belt in a fight that will attract all the ?conflicts? in terms of who will win the bout.

Ankrah lost the title to his namesake, Ben Neequaye, last year in a thriller of a fight at the same venue.

Now within arms length at the belt again, the former champion will aim at nothing but atonement for the earlier miss. But the strength of Kpakpo will be the decisive factor.

Stephen Okai aka Ataa Gyata will also court the indulgence of Badu Akuetteh for the national super lightweight title, which Okai holds presently. Other bouts on the exciting bill are: Osumanu Akaba versus Ayittey Mettle; Alidu Amidu versus Emeka Wogu of Nigeria; Samuel Turkson versus Kuma Doe; James Toney versus Mojed Okedara, and Alfred Tetteh versus Ben Odamettey.
