Accra, Nov. 30, GNA - Former Commonwealth Gold medalists, Raymond Narh of Ghana is set to face an unknown South African opponent on Saturday, December 26 at the Ohene Djan Stadium.
The event organized by Box Office Sports in association with Avanti Solutions and Optimum Media Prime (OMP) has been dubbed "Boxing Day Rumble" and will pit the 31-year old champ against his yet to be named South African opponent in a WBA Pan African Lightweight Championship. Narh, who is currently based in the United States of America (USA) and has the Pennsylvania State Lightweight title in his custody, will come face-to-face with his Southern African compatriot in the topmost clash of the six-bout bill.
The 12-round championship clash will be the first for "Emperor" as Narh is nicknamed in his home country, since defeating Alex Brew exactly six years ago at the same venue.
A statement signed by Alex Ntiamoah-Boakye, Chief Executive Officer of Box Office Sports copied to GNA Sports on Monday said Emmanuel Tagoe will also face a yet be declared Togolese opponent in a 10-round International Featherweight contest.
Ayi Bruce of Wisdom Gym will face Ebenezer Lamptey of the Believers Gym in a National Light Welterweight Championship whilst Patrick Okine of Attoh Quarshie Gym slugs it out against Ishmael Aryeetey of Panix Gym in a National Featherweight Eliminator, both over 12 rounds. In a Lightweight contest, Samuel Kotey of Attoh Quarshie Gym will face Peter Dorbor of Seconds Out Gym whilst Emmanuel Mensah of Will Power Gym and Aminu Turkson of Fit Square Gym slug it out over six rounds each.
