Raymond Narh Beats Togolese Challenger

National super featherweight champion Raymond Narh early this morning knocked out Togolese challenger Kodjo Gbosou in the sixth round of their scheduled 7- round bout. Kodjo Gbosou failed to respond to the bell for the start of the 7th round after an unimpressive six round fight that did not live up the pre-fight billing.

The Ghana News Agency reports, that although Raymond Narh won the fight, his performance was below expectation. Narh’s promoters have meanwhile accepted a challenge to fight Malik Jabir in December. Former WBA welterweight champion Ike Quartey and Alhaji Amanor a boxing enthusiast are offering $2,000 for the winner.

The monetary commitment was fuelled by a challenge Malik Jabir threw to Raymond after he knocked out his Togolese opponent early this morning. Jabir has been anxious to fight Olympics medallist and Ike Quartey; a supporter of Malik Jabir offered $1,000 as a bait, to be followed by another offer of $1,000 from Alhaji Amanor. Narh's camp has accepted the December 13 challenge. Raymond Narh defeated Smith Odoom to lift the super featherweight title early this year and has been the target of Malik who is a super bantamweight.
