Ghana’s Richard Commey (25-2, 22 KO’s) is on the verge of getting another World title shot as the International Boxing Federation (IBF) has ordered an eliminator fight between him and Russia’s Roman Andreev (20-0, 14 KO’s),” Ghanacrusader.com can exclusively reveal.
The Ghanaian was initially scheduled to face America’s Alejandro Luna but the latter pulled out of the fight.
The exact date for the upcoming clash is yet to be confirmed.
The winner between Commey and Andreev will fight for the IBF World lightweight belt which is been held by America’s Robert Easter Jr.
Last year, Commey fought for the IBF World lightweight title but he lost via a controversial decision to Easter.
Commey is currently ranked 5 by the IBF while Andreev is at number 7.
