Rising Star Africa Promotions have announced a WBO super bantamweight world title eliminator battle between Ghana’s Isaac Dogboe (16-0, 10 KO’s) and Argentina’s Javier Chacon (25-3-1, 7 KO’s).

The fight was announced on Wednesday at the Conference Room of the Airport View Hotel in Accra. The upcoming card will come off on July 22nd at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

Dogboe will also defend his WBO international super bantamweight belt, a title he won last year December after stopping Julian Evaristo Aristule in round seven.

“Rising Star Africa Promotions presents the battle to Vegas, Dogboe vs Chacon has been finalized,” Dogboe, who happens to be the CEO of Rising Star Africa Promotions announced the fight.

“The stage is set, July 22nd at the Bukom Boxing Arena the fight is on, it is final eliminator fight and i have this opportunity also to defend my WBO international super bantamweight title, it is not an easy challenge and we appreciate the challenge. It has not been easy getting an opponent because most of the opponents run away.”

Dogboe on his prediction against Chacon said: “Chacon is a tough boxer, but on that date when i step inside the ring, in round one i will try to knock him out, if it fails i will wait if the knock out presents itself i will go for it,” he added.

Dogboe-Chacon press conference attracted boxing luminaries such as Australian-based boxing promoter Mike Altamura, special adviser to the Youth and Sports Minister, Dr. Owusu Ansah, WBO Africa representative and former Ghana Boxing Authority president, Samir Captan and former Ike Quartey and Alfred Kotey manager, Yoofi Boham.
