Ray Narh’s relentless pursuit of world title glory may have come to a sudden halt on August 2 at the Bob Carpenter Center, Newark, Delaware, USAafter he suffered only the third loss of his career when he was stopped in round 7 of their scheduled 12-rounder by American, Ray Robinson.
Narh, nicknamed The Emperor also lost the opportunity to win the hitherto vacant USBA welterweight title after Robinson dropped him twice before finishing him off with a barrage of punches.
But Narh, now 34 who returned from a two-year layoff in June and shocked Ronald Cruz with an unexpected decision win, has been tipped by long time associate and local based manager, Yoofi Boham to bounce back stronger despite the second defeat in his last three fights.
“Yes he lost but it shouldn’t be the end of him, he is still strong and can make a stronger return. This is just a setback and I sent him a message to tell him to put the loss behind him and forge ahead,” Mr. Boham told BOXING IN GHANA newspaper exclusively.
He added: “He is in the toughest division in world boxing and nothing will come easy, but he is a very good boxer and I expect him to return and still be a champion.”
