Osumanu Akaba has sworn to end the boxing career of Benin challenger Theodore Lokossou when they meet for the Interim WBO Africa Super Featherweight title in the headliner of the Only the Strong boxing extravaganza put up by Victor Ahiakpor’s Heart of Lions Promotions. Akaba (26-4-1, 19 KOs), has already twice beaten Lokossou in his career and sees their third clash as the moment to finish off the opponent from Benin on October 8 at the Lebanon House in the centre of Accra.

“I am a winner and I’m here to win. This is an opportunity I want to use to make my career because I want a world title soon. He is a good boxer but I will beat him, I want to bury him. If I were him, he should have told his father before leaving Benin that he is coming to Ghana to die. I will bury him in the ring,” Osumanu Akaba claims.

But 31 year old Lokossou boasting a career record of 32-5 with 20 KOs in unperturbed, telling last Monday’s press conference to announce the fight that he has learnt enough to be third time lucky against the Ghanaian. He said: “This belt is very nice, this belt belongs to Theodore Lokossou from now. I tell you the truth, I’m not joking. I’m ready to die. If Akaba lasts beyond round 8, then he has tried his best.”
