One hundred exhibitors have already confirmed their participation in a Pre-Easter Grand Sales which is to be held from February 27 to March 9 this year at the Ghana Trade Fair Centre in La, Accra.
The trade fair company, Hopeful is organising the sales.
Mr. Prince Quarcoo, Acting Director of Fairs, Exhibitions and Events, at a press conference in Accra yesterday said "around this time of the year, the company organizes international fairs but since there was one last year, the company and exhibitors felt it was wise to replace it with the Pre Easter Grand Sales".
He said the main Easter Grand Sales would be held in Kumasi during Easter. He said Kumasi always holds such fairs during Easter and Christmas.
Pavilions A, B, D, E, F and the CD streets would be used for the fair, which will have all types of products and services. The gate fee would be 3,000 cedis for adults and 2000 cedis for children.
Mr. Quarcoo said the problem of exhibitors complaining about where they are sited during fairs has been solved, because now exhibitors will choose sites themselves before they register.
Mr. Quarcoo said the trade fair administration has checked all the electrical systems at all the pavilions.
He said the fair would have a special entertainment programme on the 6th of March, which marks Ghana's Independence celebrations. "This year's Pre Easter Grand Sales would showcase special activities during which exhibitors would launch new products and re-launch products which are not well known on the market."
"Registration for the fair has been very encouraging and I hope by February 20th more than 500 exhibitors would have registered. This shows that exhibitors are really getting the benefit of marketing at the Trade Fair," Mr. Quarcoo said.
"Hopeful" is also to hold a Fair in the Western Region by the end of the year.
