Nkoranza, (B/A), Jan. 23, (Credit Adu Simon) GNA - About 150 businessmen and women at Nkoranza, have registered with the Business Advisory Centre (BAC) under the National Board for Small Scale Industries Businesses (NBSSI) for assistance to grow their businesses. Mr Duut Sebastian, head of the Nkoranza District BAC told the Ghana News Agency that Board had been very supportive to businesses and the centre had funded various capacity building workshops for clients. He said activities most of these clients engaged in include grass cutter rearing, beekeeping, dress making, mushroom production, gari processing and baking.

Mr Sebastian said the centre had also facilitated access to credit to clients from financial institutions to expand their businesses. Such assistance is often given to the credit-worthy ones, he said, and advised beneficiaries to remain faithful to continue to enjoy the BAC's laudable plans and programmes.

He commended the management of the Nkoranza branch of the Agricultural Development Bank, the Nkoranza-Fiagya Rural Bank and the Nkoranza-Kwabre Rural Bank for their support to clients of the BAC. Mr Sebastian said a training workshop had been designed this year to help artisans, beekeepers, grass cutter farmers and dressmakers to improve their skills and to manage their businesses efficiently. He said the centre would also organise talk shows on radio stations to educate people on the importance of the registration of their businesses so they could attract support from the government and non-governmental organisations. 23 Jan. 09
