Founder of Limitless Foundation, Arnav Nambiar, together with his team has donated several bags of rice and boxes of beverages to support the Accra rehabilitation centre during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 16-year-old high school student of the Lincoln Community School embarked on the gesture today April 28, 2020, where he was happily welcomed by the management of the centre.
According to Arnav, his main objective is to create awareness about people living with disabilities in Ghana and also support their needs by raising funds through any means possible.
He added, that since the Coronavirus has exposed our vulnerability as humans, there is the need to extend a hand of support one another especially the disabled.
“The outbreak of Corona showed us how vulnerable we are as a society to disasters. It also showed us how we may not necessarily be prepared to deal with a pandemic of this proportion. In my opinion, it is my job as Ambassador for the Paralympics team to help aid the community in Accra during these difficult times. I sincerely hope that the pandemic will be soon a thing of the past and we can all go about our lives peacefully,” he established.
The donations were received on behalf of the centre by Minister of Gender and social protection, Mrs Cynthia Morrison.
Fascinated about how a 16-year-old young man could embark on such a project, she showed immense gratitude.
“For a young man of his age to think about the vulnerable and to raise awareness at this time, I am very elated. I encourage other young boys to emulate his footsteps. There are people in need and in time of crises, we need to all come together and help,” she stated.
