Kofi Ofosu-Nkansah is former CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP)
Former CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu-Nkansah, says the New Patriotic Party (NPP) could have delivered even greater results under the One District, One Factory (1D1F) initiative with increased investment and support.
Speaking on Kasapa FM on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, he noted that although the programme recorded significant gains, more resources would have expanded job opportunities for the youth.
“Although we opened and supported 170 factories to be operational under the 1D1F policy, I still believe we could have done better,” he said.
Despite this, he maintained that the NPP government made substantial progress in industrialisation and employment creation.
“We opened several factories and also assisted many existing ones to branch into other sectors so they can employ Ghanaians. We opened and operated 170 factories under the 1D1F policy. In Accra and Kumasi alone, we operated 144 factories, which is laudable,” he stated.
Kofi Ofosu-Nkansah added that these achievements position the Akufo-Addo administration as one of the most impactful governments in terms of job creation.
