1D1F is a fraudulent outright on the people of Ghana – Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed

The Tamale Central Member of Parliament, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, has shared his opinions on the NPP’s 1D1F strategy. He said that if these foreign companies had not been excused from paying taxes and had created jobs, the nation’s citizens would have been restored.

Speaking on StarrNews on Starrfm, with Tutuwaa Danso, He said, “The 1D1F is the most fraudulent, thievery, outright robbery that this government is seeking to perpetrate on the people of this country”.

“Meanwhile, we are begging for a loan of 100 million dollars as a state, and yet we give tax exemption to foreign companies at a total amount of 350 million dollars and these are import duties that these foreign companies are supposed to pay to the states”, he added.

Ibrahim went on to explain the 1D1F policy. He said, “I have had the privileged opportunity to have managed the Ministry of Trade as a deputy minister before. And I have said that these people, they don’t even read. Go and read the 1D1F policy document.”

“The document is very clear that for you to enjoy the tax exemptions, you must show proof of the number of jobs you’ll be creating. These companies haven’t shown that because they are friends and families of Nana Addo,” he continued.

“Let’s put politics aside. It does not make sense if we can allow these foreign companies to pay taxes as import duties to the country,” he concluded.
