The Ghana CEO Network has launched its 2nd Edition of the Ghana SME & Young CEOs Summit in Accra.
The annual event which is expected to take off on November 26 will bring together business leaders, stakeholders, investors, service providers, regulators as well as government representatives to engage on issues relevant to businesses in Ghana.
CEO and Founder of the Chief Executives Network Ghana, Ernest De-Graft Egyir, speaking at the media launch Tuesday August 7 said the theme, ‘Corporate leadership governance and technology: strong pillars for business and economic growth’ has been strategically chosen to address issues of corporate governance and its importance to companies particularly SMEs.
“We at the CEOs chamber with the objective of continuing to build the capacity of SMEs are saying that if you have a sector that contributes about 70% of the country’s GDP and a sector that constitutes about 92% of operational businesses and the corporate governance and leadership issues are not given attention, how do these organisations scale up, hence the theme for the second Ghana SME CEO summit.”
According to him, young CEOs and entrepreneurs will be better equipped with strategic leadership capabilities for the business environment. Through Key Note Speakers, lectures and discussions, he said participants will enhance their understanding of the impact of Corporate Governance, Leadership and Digital Technology on SME businesses.
Yeo Ziobeieton, who is Managing Director of Unilever Ghana on his part said “The country’s economic growth is certainly tied to the future and the fortune of leaders of SMEs” for which reason the summit is very critical. He further urged all stakeholders and young CEOs to patronize the event and participate.
“I would like to invite us all to participate massively in the 2nd edition of the Ghana SME and young CEO Summit,” he added.
