Ghana has taken a significant step to bolster its national and regional security by signing a landmark defence agreement with the European Union (EU) amid rising militant threats across the West African sub-region.
The agreement, signed in Accra by EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas and Ghana’s Vice President Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, is the first of its kind between the EU and an African country.
