President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said his government through the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) and Ghana Jobs and Skills project has created employment opportunities for over 700,000 young Ghanaians in the past seven years.
He noted his administration has ensured that the environment was conducive for businesses to thrive, as well as, provide employment for the teeming unemployed youth.
Speaking at the 12th Quadrennial Delegates Congress of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, President Akufo-Addo his government has worked closely with the Organized Labour to address their concerns amicably.
"Over the past seven years, my government has worked closely with Organized Labour to resolve industrial disputes amicably, ensuring a stable environment that supports economic growth and job creation," he said.
"Our efforts have been fruitful, with initiatives like the Ghana Jobs and Skills Project and the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) providing employment opportunities for over 700,000 young Ghanaians since 2017," President Akufo-Addo stated.
This event, he said, was a significant moment to reflect the contributions of TUC in fostering industrial peace and harmony within our labour sector.
