The Nation Builders Corps (NaBCo) has received an overwhelming patronage, with about seventy-two thousand unemployed graduates applying for placement nine (9) days after government launched the programme.

Despite debates on the sustainability of the programme when rolled out, the National coordinator for NaBCo, Dr Anyars Ibrahim, has disclosed that about eight thousand (8,000) people apply to the programme each day.

Speaking to journalists, Dr Ibrahim, a staffer at the office of the Vice President, seeing to the implementation of NaBCo noted that the patronage meant there are more unemployed graduates willing to be enrolled onto the programme.

He said before the applicants are deployed to commence work, there will be a screening to ensure that the qualified people are enrolled onto the programme, saying there will be nothing like protocol in the shortlisting process.

President Akufo-Addo launched the programme on May 1, 2018 to tackle graduate unemployment in the country.

Speaking on News File on Joy News channel on Multi TV, last Saturday, Dr Ibrahim revealed that the monitoring done by the technical officials had shown that over 40,000 Ghanainas had applied to NaBCo since its website was launched.
