The Savanna Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) would collaborate with the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) to ensure that all business opportunities in the ecological zone were fully utilized to the benefit of the people.

Mr Sulley Adam, Board Chairman of SADA, made this known on Thursday and called on the AGI to serve as a vehicle to transform SADA’s agenda.

Mr Adam made the statements in Tamale on Thursday during the Northern Regional annual general meeting of the AGI.

He said SADA was developing a five-year strategic plan to help achieve its core mandate and collaborating with the AGI was very necessary.

Mr James Asare-Adjei, National President of the AGI, said the partnership with SADA was long overdue, adding, “I wish to indicate that AGI is more than ready to partner SADA to move this region forward”.

He noted that SADA had unique opportunities for accelerated industrial development in its ecological zone that would provide jobs and business opportunities to the people of the area.

Mr Asare-Adjei therefore appealed to financial institutions to lend credit to small and medium scale enterprises to cushion their businesses and also contribute to the national economy.

Mr Iddrisu Andulai, the Out-going Northern Regional Chairman of AGI, enumerated projects that the Association has undertaken successfully in the Region and urged more businesses to join the AGI.

The AGI meeting also saw the members electing new executives to steer the affairs of the Association for the next two years.

Mr Osman Sahanoon Kalandi was elected as the Chairman, Mr Abramani Freeman, Vice Chaiman, Mr Yakubu Braimah, Treasurer and Mr Baba Yabdow and Ibrahim Hajara Taimako as executive members.
