AGI to hold Indutech 2013 in Kumasi

The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) has launched the second industry and technology fair, “INDUTECH 2013” to be held in Kumasi.

The fair will officially take off on March 27 and end April 1. Mr William Awuku Ahiadormey, Chairman of the Planning Committee, called on local manufacturers to take advantage of the opportunity to aggressively market their products.

He said the fair would afford Ghanaians and exhibitors from West Africa the opportunity to showcase their wares as well as exchange ideas on how to boost trade in the Sub-region.

Being held on the theme: “Improving market share of made in Ghana goods – Challenges of access to the market,” the fair would also provide an interaction between consumers and producers of local products and encourage patronage to support economic development.

Mr Ahiadormey also said more than 100 exhibitors both local and foreign are expected to participate in the fair, adding that firm proposals had been received from some foreign investors to participate in the fair.

Manufacturers from other West African countries including Cote d’ Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Togo, Nigeria and Benin have confirmed their participation.

A major attraction of the fair is special seminars on quality of Ghanaian products and imported ones as well as financial facilities for agricultural businesses.

Mr Samuel Appenteng, AGI Vice President, lauded Ashanti and Brong-Ahafo regional branches of the Association for organising the fair.

He said marketing is important in making products known to customers and improve standards.
