Accelerate progress on Presidential Initiatives- GM

Twifo Ntafrewaso(c/r) Mar 29, GNA - The General Manager of Twifo Oil Palm Plantation, Mr Malik Amin, on Saturday appealed to the government to accelerate the pace of progress on the president's initiatives on oil palm and cassava and add a lot more commodities to create wealth and improve the lives of rural communities.

Mr Amin, who made the appeal, also asked chiefs to release land for investors to bring wealth to their communities.

He was commissioning two 20-seater KVIPS for the people of Twifo Mampong and Ntafrewaso and District Assembly JSS School blocks and bore-holes for Twifo Aduaben and Ntafrewaso all valued at 205 million cedis.

The General Manager said: "The commissioning of the projects will not be the end of our commitments to the Twifo communities; we will work closely with Nananom and their elders to demonstrate that indeed our marriage is a till death do us part affair.

"We are true partners and we will need the support of each and everyone in the community to succeed as a business." Mr Amin hoped the facilities would be fully maintained and put to good use for the benefit of all.

Mr Amin said TOPP believes that the development of rural communities is the joint responsibility of all stakeholders who depend and use the resources of the communities.

"Hence, as a company, we will continue to put our weight behind the development of education in the communities where we operate to pave a path for the future young ones."

Mr Malik said with our oil palm located in the district TOPP have created employment for the people and a smallholder scheme for the people to improve their lot.

Mr Malik asked the communities to take good care of the facilities to ensure their long life span.

Nana Appiah Nuamah II, Omanhene of Twifo Mampong traditional area thanked the management of TOPP for its kind gesture and hoped they would continue to assist the communities to ensure peaceful co-existence. Rev Emmanuel Adu Gyamfi, assistant director of education, thanked the Management of TOPP for using part of its resources in rehabilitating the school.
